Exciting & Ambitious New Chapter

After recently celebrating our 85^th year in business, Tyneside Safety Glass is embarking on an exciting and ambitious new chapter in the company’s long history.

In the coming months we open our third manufacturing facility.

The 50,000sq ft facility will be based on the Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead, North East England and it will be solely dedicated to the production of flat and curved specialist laminated glass products including bullet resistant / transparent armour products.

These specialist glass products are used in various military, armoured civilian and emergency service vehicles, along with windshields for rail applications.

This new centre of excellence will cement the company’s on-going commitment for these complex products where we are experiencing a strong future order book, and experiencing continued growth and demand from clients throughout the world.

The facility will involve significant investment in new, highly automated state of the art manufacturing equipment, which incorporate the latest technology and methods of processing.

By having a new dedicated facility for these specialist glass composites, we will significantly increase our capacity and further enhance our technical capabilities to provide the best quality products, service and flexibility of supply within this highly specialised industry.

In addition, the investment will help to protect and secure existing jobs, with the aim to create further employment opportunities for the region in the future.

New machinery will start to be installed from June 2024 and the facility will be fully operational in August.
